Water and Sewer Line Maintenance

The Water & Sewer Line Maintenance Team is responsible for the following:

  • Installation, Repair and Maintenance of the  Water and Sewer infrastructure
  • Hydrant Flushing
  • Meter Reading and Meter Repair/Replacement
  • Repair of water and sewer residential services

Water leaks are very expensive and can play havoc with your water bill and your budget. We encourage you to make it a regular practice to check all toilets and faucets for leaks.  It is easy.  Click the following link: Leak Checks

Tips to prevent sewer back-ups:

Keep Sinks and Toilets Clear of Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) and those dreaded WIPES!

These common sources of Sewer Back-ups should NEVER be flushed down the toilet or poured down the drain: “Flushable” Wipes – actually get stuck once they are flushed. This is a huge problem – and costly too.

  • Gravy, sauces and soups
  • Cooking oil, butter, shortening, lard and margarine
  • Milk, cream, sour cream and mayonnaise
  • Food scraps
  • Oil from cooked meats

Avoid Clogged Pipes – Take a moment to see the attached photos that capture what our Public Works Crews are finding in your sewer pipes.

Disconnect Your Downspout

A downspout, also known as a roof leader, carries excess storm water from roofs and gutters away from homes to yards and grassy areas.  Be certain the rain runoff is not connected to the sewer system.
