2019 Arbor Day Ceremony

The Havre de Grace Municipal Tree Commission would like for you to join us in our annual Arbor Day ceremony on Friday, April 26. This year we will be planting several trees in Tydings Park, per plan, along with several others on Union Ave. We will be planting a pin oak in front of St John’s church in honor of Harriet Tubman. The ceremony itself will be near the entrance of the ADA ramp in Tydings Park at 10 am (4/26). We will also be planting an eastern redbud, which is being donated by Betsy Keithley and the Daughters of the American Revolution, at Veterans Park.  The State Forester will be there to present our 16th consecutive Tree City USA honor and to do a brief speech about the significance of Arbor Day and planting of trees.
DPW has already planted over 100 trees at Seneca Park, Todd Field, along the post rail fence at McIlhenny Park, and replaced several dead trees at Horseshoe Bend this week.
