Code Enforcement Havre de GraceCode Enforcement The City is dedicated to protecting the health, safety, and welfare of our community. We work collaboratively with residents and property owners to maintain property standards, preserve property values, and ensure neighborhoods remain safe, clean, and welcoming places to live and work. Our Approach: Compliance Over Penalty Our goal is voluntary compliance. When a violation is identified, we focus on education and working with property owners to correct the issue. If violations persist, formal enforcement steps, such as notices of violation, citations, or penalties, may be issued. Common Violations We Address Property Maintenance: Peeling paint, deteriorating structures, and unsecured or vacant buildings. Yard Upkeep: Overgrown grass, weeds, and the accumulation of trash or debris. Vehicles: Storing inoperable or unregistered vehicles in public view. Zoning & Permits: Operating unpermitted businesses or beginning construction without necessary permits. Sidewalks: Failure to clear snow/ice or blocked public walkways. How to Report a Concern If you notice a potential code violation in your neighborhood, please submit a service request through the MGO portal. The MGO portal will allow you to track the status of the case. You can also call the Tony Cochran at 410-939-1800 ex. 1124 to report a violation.
