It’s Hydrant Flushing Time! – Beginning October 21, 2024

The City of Havre de Grace will begin flushing fire hydrants throughout the city beginning October 21 and it will last approximately 2-3 weeks.  The work will be performed between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Flushing the hydrants ensures adequate water flow is available to firefighters, residents, and businesses. It also improves water quality.

Water users may experience a brief reduction in water pressure and/or discoloration when the hydrants in your area are being flushed.  The water supply will remain safe to drink. If you do notice discoloration, let the cold water faucet run until it is clear.  The washing of clothes is discouraged until discoloration disappears.
