Tree Removal in Tydings Memorial Park on 8/3/2026

Despite the city’s best efforts to save the iconic maple tree in the center of the Tydings Memorial Park playground, sadly, ongoing disease and decay have made its removal necessary. The tree is scheduled to be taken down on Monday, August 3.

To ensure our park remains green and shaded, DPW will plant a large-caliper replacement tree in its place this fall. Thank you for your understanding as we work to keep our park safe and beautiful!
