Jim Ringsaker moved to the area at age 16 in 1992 as an independent student after his father retired from the Army and stayed in Germany where they were stationed. After graduating from Havre de Grace High School, he attended Harford Community College, eventually graduating from Frostburg State University where he studied Political Science, Criminal Justice, and Sociology. He and his wife Brenda have two children, Matthew and Sydney.

He is a member of Susquehanna Lodge #130 and Boumi Shriners and has served on the board of the Mid Atlantic Association of Shrine Motor Corps for four years, where he organizes events and raises money for Shriners Hospitals for Children. He coaches youth football and baseball and actively participates with his son’s Cub Scout Pack. Jim and his family sponsor their block for the Citizens Against Trash club.

His hobbies include woodworking, gardening, hiking, and waterfowl hunting. As a family, they enjoy visiting National Parks and Battlefields. As a councilman, his goal is to support growth while honoring the history and heritage our community was founded on and provide a new perspective for our current infrastructure needs, living up to our high school motto “Enter to Learn – Leave to Serve.”
