Council Member Johnny Boker Havre de GraceGovernmentElected OfficialsCouncil Member Johnny Boker johnnyb@havredegracemd.com Johnny has served 21 years as a Soldier and 13 years as a Department of the Army Civilian for a combined 34 years of federal service. Mr. Boker served in the U.S. Army as a Communication Network Chief and achieved the rank of First Sergeant. Mr. Boker honorably served in five armed conflicts, including Panama Invasion, Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, prior to his retirement in late 2005. Presently Mr. Boker serves as a civilian employee in the Department of Defense at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland, as an Executive Product Support Manager. Mr. Boker recently received two Department of Defense Achievement Awards for leadership in Acquisition and Contract Management and Acquisition Logistics. An active volunteer, Mr. Boker serves his community by being an active member of the American Legion Post 47, Havre de Grace Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Weedon Elliot Post 8126, and the Citizens Against Trash (CAT) Club. Mr. Boker also serves as the President of Alliance Inc., a 501c3 that is charged with the revitalization of a downtown merchant district. Mr. Boker is a former Vice President of the Havre de Grace Chamber of Commerce and advocated for the Warrior Proud High School and Middle School. Mr. Boker was a leader in the dedication and installation of the Gold Star Families Memorial, located in Concord Point Park, in Havre de Grace, and the newly installed Alfred B. Hilton Memorial. Working from initial concept, design, and coordination with the City of Havre de Grace, corporate and local sponsors. Mr. Boker continues to serve as a member of the Havre de Grace Water & Sewer Commission, Master Mason at the Masonic Lodge #130 in Havre de Grace. Also, member of the Havre de Grace & Mumbles Twinning Association. Mr. Boker attained his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2016 and his Master of Business Administration in the spring of 2018 from the University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) in Adelphi, MD. Mr. Boker and his wife, Wanda Boker, live in Havre de Grace, Maryland, are former business owners, and have three adult sons and one granddaughter. Resident since 2010 and married to Wanda in 2014. Our decision to run for council was an easy one. It would be an honor and a privilege to assist the mayor and council president in formulating and maintaining the city’s comprehensive plan and improving the quality of life for our citizens.
