Hydrant Flushing

The City’s Department of Public Works team has begun flushing the fire hydrants and conducting a flow test throughout its distribution system. We do this 2x a year. It takes about 60 days to conduct this flow test. We will be finished by the end of the year.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU ~
Water users may experience a brief reduction in water pressure and/or discoloration when the hydrants in your area are being flushed. While the water supply will remain safe to drink, should you notice discoloration, let the COLD water run clear. The washing of clothing is discouraged until discoloration disappears.
