Military Spouse Appreciation Day

On behalf of the citizens of Havre de Grace, I would like to thank each and all military spouses for their service. As part of a Great American Defense Community, we have many wonderful military families living in our city. I am proud to say I know many of them personally. I know a lot is asked from these families. Having the strongest military in the world is a testament to the fact we have strong and resilient military spouses.
I see their endless sacrifices each day knowing they experience an overwhelming degree of fear and uncertainty. While their loved ones are away protecting our freedoms, they are home maintaining a sense of order.
Faced with unimaginable challenges, they carry this burden out of love and patriotism. Their service requires great ability and talent which they perform with grace and dignity. I know this often comes with long periods of unsetting sacrifice, frequently requiring them to play various roles in the family and community which at times may be unregimented and unconventional.
Their courage is a vital part of our military’s success and makes our city a better place; for this, the City of Havre de Grace will be forever grateful.
