New Traffic Pattern – 800 Block of Erie Street

Effective Thursday, June 15, 2023, the 800 block of Erie Street will be converted to a one-way street for eastbound traffic coming off of U.S. Route 40.  Mayor Martin has declared a state of emergency in this area.  The reason for this new traffic pattern is due to the high volume of traffic, including overweight trucks using the narrow residential street as both an entry and exit point to U.S. Route 40.  This overwhelming traffic has resulted in issues such as property damage and safety concerns for the residents in the area.  This is an important step to address the problems caused by the heavy traffic on this street.
