Public notice for Havre de Grace boat ramp project EA

    Notice is hereby given that the City of Havre de Grace, Harford County, Maryland and the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, in cooperation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, have prepared an Environmental Assessment for the proposed Water Street Boating Access Facility Project in the City of Havre de Grace. The project is proposed for funding by the Sport Fish Restoration Grant Program administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, and the City of Havre de Grace. This notice is also intended to meet the requirements of Presidential Executive Order 11888 (Flood Plain Management), Executive Order 11990 (Protection of Wetlands), and the National Environmental Policy Act.

    The purpose of the project is to improve trailered boat access for anglers and recreational boaters to both the Susquehanna River and the northern portion of the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. Planned activities include construction of a two lane boat ramp and associated bulkhead, floating boarding pier, a parking lot for 20 vehicles with trailers located directly east of the boat ramp, kayak and canoe launch with 7 car parking, and installation of signs associated with safe operation of the boat ramp.
