Statement from Mayor William T. Martin on the passing of former Council Member Richard Tome. 

It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of former Council Member Richard Tome.  Richard was elected to the City Council in 1998 and spent his time on the council advocating for citizens, small businesses, and tourism.  Richard championed creative ways to promote our City, such as the Havre de Grace Duck Drop, which he was instrumental in creating and establishing. In addition to his service on the City Council, Richard was a business owner and was an active member of the community. 

“I remember Richard as a very good man, someone who was always willing to help his community and fellow neighbors,” said Mayor William T. Martin. “On behalf of the Citizens of Havre de Grace, I wish to express our sincere condolences to the friends and family of Richard Tome.”
