Lead Service Line Inventory

Attention City of Havre de Grace Water Users:

The Department of Public Works has been working on a city-wide comprehensive water service line material inventory for the water distribution system. Service line material is material used to distribute water from the city’s water main into a facility, and generally consists of two parts (a public and private side). The public side is city owned and runs from the water main to a shutoff valve/curb stop near the sidewalk or property line to a meter crock. The private side is 18″ past the meter crock. The city is responsible for the public side and up to 18″ past the meter crock on the resident’s side.

Recently, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) put forth new legislation referred to as the Lead and Copper Rule Revisions.

Our initial inventory submission was completed by EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., and was submitted on October 16, 2024. Click here to see the lead service line map for a more detailed overview of city-wide lead inventory.
