    Student Traffic Accident Reduction (STAR)

This week, October 16-22, 2022, is National Teen Driving Safety Week.

Most crashes result from the driver failing to give the proper time and attention to the road and what is going on.  This can be avoided, especially for teen drivers, and these crashes can be reduced.

Here is what we need from you to keep you and other drivers safe:

    • Put your cell phone down while driving.
    • Make sure you and your passengers are buckled up the entire time the vehicle is in motion.
    • Slow down and obey the speed limit!
    • And to avoid being a victim of a crime, lock your car and take your valuables with you.

Please help us reduce and eliminate crashes.  You need to follow these simple rules, so everyone arrives at their destination safely.

    National Drug Take-Back Day

The National Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs.  This day is also used to educate people about the potential for abuse of medications and accidental ingestion of medications and protect the environment from drugs being washed down the sink or flushed down the toilet.

    • National Drug Take-Back Day is on Saturday, October 29, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Police Department.
    • Come into the Police Department with your medications, and someone will be there to accept them.
    • NEEDLES will not be accepted.
