Message from our Waste/Recycle Collection Contractor

From Bartenfelder Sanitation Services (1/23/2026):

With the upcoming snow storm forecasted, we want to proactively communicate our service policies and expectations during winter weather events to ensure safety for our drivers, residents, and equipment.

Safety is our top priority. During and immediately following significant snow or ice events, trash and recycling service may be delayed or temporarily suspended due to hazardous conditions. Please review the following important guidelines:

Street Conditions

  • We will not service streets or access roads that are snow-covered, icy, unplowed, or deemed unsafe for heavy trucks.

  • This includes private roads, alleys, cul-de-sacs, and parking areas that have not been fully cleared.

  • Streets must be plowed and treated for ice before service can safely resume.

Container Accessibility

  • Carts, dumpsters, or containers must be fully accessible.

  • If containers are buried, frozen in place, blocked by snowbanks, or surrounded by snow, they will not be serviced.

  • Containers cannot be serviced if snow piles prevent the truck from safely approaching, lifting, or returning the container to its original location.

Vehicle & Obstruction Issues

  • Service will be skipped if vehicles, plow piles, or other obstacles block access to containers.

  • We cannot maneuver trucks through narrow or partially cleared areas, as this poses a risk of property damage and personal injury.

Timing & Delays

  • Routes may run later than normal, be pushed to the following day, or be postponed until conditions improve.

  • Missed service due to snow or ice will not be considered a service failure and will resume once conditions allow.

  • Extra material generated due to delayed service will be accepted once normal schedules resume.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding during winter weather events. These policies allow us to continue providing reliable service while keeping everyone safe. If you have questions or need to discuss a specific property, please contact our office.
